How can architecture respond to the upheavals caused by global warming? How to read and analyze the current crisis? How can the climate and other ecological question generate specific projects? To tackle these questions, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Versailles is organizing two days of conferences at the Pavillon de l'Arsenal. Open to all, the Climate Parliament will question the apparent ecological consensus. Is ecology a purely technical subject? What is the role of the capitalist system in the current crisis? How has colonisation exported the exploitation of resources to the whole world? What specificities can architecture bring to this question of society? As in a democratic process, the debates will be transcribed by professional editors and will feed a workshop with ENSA-V Master students to create a critical exhibition of the conference’s debates. The exhibition will open at ENSA-V on Saturday 1 February 2020, on the occasion of its Open Days. These questions on the ecological consensus will then inform the school’s Master cycle for three years.
